This is a hands-on payroll role for someone who knows their way around end-to-end payroll processing and is ready to take on more. You will own the accurate and compliant delivery of payroll outcomes, handle intermediate-level queries independently, and contribute to the team's overall service standards. This is not an entry-level position—you will be expected to bring solid payroll knowledge, hands-on SAP Payroll processing experience, work with a degree of autonomy, and support the development of those around you. Experience processing South African payroll and/or international payroll is advantageous, but not essential.
What You Will Be Doing
- Processing end-to-end payroll accurately and on time using established systems and tools, including SAP Payroll.
- Maintaining employee masterfile data in line with employment legislation and internal requirements.
- Preparing recurring and ad hoc payroll reports and supporting payment requirements for internal stakeholders.
- Handling intermediate-complexity payroll queries and resolving them with minimal escalation.
- Supporting teammates and providing downstream mentoring to less experienced team members.
- Upholding service standards when responding to employee payroll queries.
- Identifying opportunities to improve payroll processes and contributing to operational excellence.
What You Bring
- Proven experience in end-to-end payroll processing.
- Hands-on experience using SAP Payroll (required).
- Solid understanding of payroll legislation and compliance requirements.
- Strong Excel skills and proficiency in payroll systems.
- High attention to detail and a track record of accuracy under deadline pressure.
- Confidence handling complex queries and escalating only when necessary.
- A collaborative mindset with the ability to guide and support junior team members.
- Strong communication skills and a proactive, solutions-oriented approach.
- Experience processing South African payroll is advantageous but not essential.
- International payroll experience is a plus but not required.
