Job Description

Job Purpose:The Maintenance Engineer leads and coordinates plant maintenance activities to ensure the reliability, safety, and optimal performance of production and support equipment. The role is responsible for planning and executing preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs while supervising internal maintenance teams and third-party service providers to ensure work quality, safety compliance, and timely completion of maintenance activities.

Key Responsibilities: MAINTENANCE EXECUTION AND CONTRACTOR MANAGEMENT

Responsibilities:Lead and actively participate in the safe and efficient execution of maintenance activities while supervising third-party maintenance personnel.

Main Tasks:

  1. Lead and perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities based on approved maintenance plans and schedules.
  2. Conduct hands-on troubleshooting, repair, and restoration of mechanical and electrical equipment during breakdowns or abnormal conditions.
  3. Provide technical leadership during maintenance work and guide technicians in proper repair methods and troubleshooting techniques.
  4. Participate directly in complex or critical maintenance tasks that require engineering-level expertise.
  5. Ensure maintenance work is performed according to technical standards, equipment manuals, and approved procedures.
  6. Supervise maintenance technicians during execution of maintenance activities to ensure quality and efficiency of work.
  7. Conduct root cause analysis for equipment failures and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  8. Coordinate and supervise third-party contractors performing specialized maintenance services.
  9. Review contractor scope of work and ensure compliance with plant technical standards and safety requirements.
  10. Conduct pre-job briefings for maintenance teams and contractors prior to starting maintenance activities.
  11. Monitor contractor progress and ensure safe and timely completion of outsourced maintenance tasks.
  12. Inspect and verify the quality of completed maintenance work before returning equipment to Production.
  13. Perform functional testing and operational checks to ensure equipment reliability after maintenance.
  14. Ensure proper documentation of maintenance work and contractor service reports in the maintenance management system.

Key Responsibilities: EQUIPMENT RELIABILITY AND CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT

Responsibilities:Improve equipment reliability and plant operational performance through failure analysis, technical improvements, and maintenance optimization.

Main Tasks:

  1. Analyze equipment downtime trends and maintenance history to identify recurring issues.
  2. Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for major equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
  3. Recommend equipment modifications or engineering improvements to improve reliability and maintainability.
  4. Support predictive maintenance and condition monitoring initiatives.
  5. Coordinate with Maintenance Planner to refine preventive maintenance strategies based on equipment performance.
  6. Participate in plant engineering improvement and reliability projects.
  7. Assist in identification and management of critical spare parts for major equipment.
  8. Support commissioning and testing of newly installed or upgraded equipment.
  9. Promote reliability-centered maintenance practices within the maintenance team.

Key Responsibilities:ASSET MANAGEMENT, ENERGY MANAGEMENT, AND ENVIRONMENTAL COMPLIANCE

Responsibility:Support the effective lifecycle management of plant assets while promoting energy efficiency and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.

Main Tasks:

  1. Support the implementation of plant asset management practices to ensure optimal performance and longevity of equipment.
  2. Monitor condition and performance of critical plant assets and recommend maintenance or replacement strategies.
  3. Analyze maintenance history, equipment failures, and operating data to identify asset reliability improvement opportunities.
  4. Assist in maintaining accurate asset records, maintenance history, and equipment documentation in the maintenance management system.
  5. Participate in asset condition assessments and support development of equipment improvement plans.
  6. Support implementation of the plant Energy Management System and energy conservation initiatives.
  7. Monitor energy consumption of major equipment and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency.
  8. Assist in implementing energy-saving initiatives such as motor efficiency improvements, system optimization, and equipment upgrades.
  9. Coordinate with the Certified Energy Manager in monitoring equipment energy performance indicators.
  10. Support compliance with environmental regulations related to plant equipment operations.
  11. Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of used oils, hazardous wastes, and other maintenance-related waste materials.
  12. Assist in monitoring environmental parameters related to plant operations such as emissions, noise, and waste generation.
Participate in environmental compliance audits and support implementation of corrective actions.

  3. Prepare risk assessments and work permits for high-risk maintenance tasks.
  4. Conduct safety inspections during maintenance activities and correct unsafe conditions.
  5. Coordinate with ECSE for documentation of maintenance incidents, near misses, and corrective actions.
  6. Prepare weekly and monthly maintenance accomplishment reports.
  7. Monitor key maintenance KPIs such as equipment downtime and maintenance response time.
  8. Maintain accurate maintenance records in the maintenance management system.
  9. Support safety and management system audits.
