The position is primarily responsible for providing overall management of bank asset and bank loan portfolio to ensure that credit control functions and credit controls are complied. The position is also tasked to oversee the non-performing loan and acquired asset, loan provisioning and concentration risk.
Key Responsibilities
Planning and Direction-Setting
1. Formulates the annual operating and business plans/programs in line with overall corporate goals and objectives
2. Develops long-term and short-term credit risk management plan
3. Creates credit policies, procedures, bulletins.
Management of Bank Asset and Bank Loan Portfolio
1. Reviews loan pricing/re-pricing, allowance for credit losses and capital adequacy, and loan loss provisioning.
2. Supervises the revision of credit policies based on credit review and analytics to help manage credit risk.
3. Manages the credit portfolios of the bank (NPL, ROPA, Restructured loans etc.)
4. Ensures credit and portfolio reviews are conducted on a regular basis
5. Monitors Single Borrower Limit (SBL), Portfolio Limits and Concentration Limits in compliance with BSP Cir. 855
Risk Management and Reporting
1. Modelling - Explore, identify and anticipate new ways to improve risk decision making levering
on new data sources & methodologies, balancing client experience and effective risk & operational processes.
2. Help in developing credit scoring, credit analytics and non-regulatory models as well actively collaborate in the development of a new and flexible decision engine infrastructure
3. Reviews and monitors expected credit loss (ECL) model, credit rating scorecards and risk rating models of the Bank and ensures calibration of the models on a regular basis.
4. Approves devised plan to address delinquent loans.
5. Prepares loan management and credit risk reports for presentation to Risk Committee.
6. Attends to BSP Audit and addresses compliance findings
Management Leadership
1. Recommends plans, programs, budget and performance targets of the department
2. Plans, directs and coordinates all activities in the department to reach maximum level of employee productivity throughout the workforce
3. Provides upfront leadership in supervising all direct and indirect reports and planning for their career advancement and aspirations
4. Supervises and evaluates the performance of all direct reports
5. Approves/schedules all vacation leaves of all direct reports
Others
1. Keeps abreast of the economy and industry trends to know whether or not a particular loan will be beneficial for the loan company.
2. Recommends process improvements and updates process manuals, if needed.
3. Participates actively during staff meetings, training programs and other professional development work.
4. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, BS Mathematics, Accounting, Business, Economics or any related field
