The Senior Consultant for Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Accounting
Plays a vital role in advancing clients sustainability initiatives and enhancing the organization's reputation by leading projects focused on emissions accounting and ensuring the accurate preparation and analysis of GHG accounts. This role involves taking ownership of specific tasks within projects and delivering high-quality outputs related to GHG accounting. The consultant will lead the preparation and processing of comprehensive data, and the calculation of Scope 1, 2 and 3 GHG emissions for organizations, while ensuring integrity and accuracy in accordance with the GHG Protocol or ISO 14064. The role also supports the development of comprehensive Net Zero strategies for organizations and emission reduction projects, and other technical or administrative tasks arising from projects related to corporate carbon management. Additionally, the Senior Consultant provides training and mentorship to junior team members, enhancing their expertise and effectiveness. The role requires identifying opportunities for process improvement within GHG accounting and reporting to enhance operational efficiency and accuracy, while collaborating with team members to refine data processing techniques and optimize practices. Effective communication of complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders is essential, along with supporting client engagements by delivering clear, accurate, and actionable insights related to GHG emissions.
This is a delivery and project management position that requires collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, including global Anthesis sustainability experts and technical consultants, to support major project delivery and innovate new solutions for clients sustainability journeys. It engages in technical research, quality assurance, and contributes to proposal writing, ensuring best practices are followed while managing multiple projects with minimal supervision. Additionally, Senior Consultants are expected to be capable of counseling, training, and overseeing the work of juniors under them. Continuous learning and professional development are integral to this role, as the senior consultant stays updated on industry trends, standards and methodologies to adopt the most effective and accurate approaches in GHG accounting and reporting, helping organizations in carrying out a successful GHG management program.

Key Requirements:
. A relevant environmental science, sustainability, engineering, economics or data analytics degree
❖ Postgraduate studies in energy, climate change and/or sustainability are desirable but not
essential.
❖ Candidates with legal, accounting, finance and economics backgrounds will also be
considered.
. Minimum 3 years of demonstrated experience with GHG emissions accounting in a corporate or
consulting setting relevant professional experience (climate data, project management, team
management well regarded.
. Solid experience in performing detailed calculations to determine material flows, ecological
footprints and other environmental, economic, and social metrics, as may be required
. Previous experience and demonstrated GHG accounting skills under current and emerging
reporting frameworks such as the GHG Protocol series, ISO 14064, and IPCC Guidelines Working
knowledge of national GHG reporting frameworks (e.g. US EPA GHG Inventory guidance, UK
Streamlined Energy & Carbon Reporting Australia National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting
Scheme & Climate Active, The Climate Registry), is highly regarded.
. Experience in other topics in the environmental sustainability sphere, such as life cycle
assessments, climate risk, sustainability disclosure (e.g. GHG, CDP, DJSI, GRI, TCFD-)
. Experience with PowerBI and other data analytics tools is an advantage
. Strong data analysis and interpretation skills, including advanced MS Excel skills.
. Ability to liaise and communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders to team relationships.
. Experience supporting supplier audits, environmental programs, and supplier capacity
development.
