As part of our strategic expansion in BGC, we are looking for a Legal Counsel who brings both legal and accounting rigor. This role is ideal for candidates with 3–5 years of substantive experience in accounting and legal, and who are ready to take on broader responsibilities across legal, tax, regulatory, and transactional work.

- You are both a Certified Public Accountant and admitted to the Philippine Bar, with strong grounding in Philippine tax law, corporate structuring, and regulatory compliance.
- You have 3–5 years of meaningful experience in tax advisory, corporate tax, or regulatory practice—preferably from a Big 4 firm or a top-tier tax group.
- You are comfortable navigating both legal analysis and tax/accounting frameworks, and enjoy working on matters where these disciplines intersect.

Roles and Responsibilities
- Provide legal and tax advisory across corporate structuring, international tax, financial structuring, and regulatory compliance.
- Review and draft tax-related documentation, including opinions, memoranda, transfer pricing documentation, cross-border analyses, and regulatory submissions.
- Advise on tax implications of commercial arrangements, M&A transactions, reorganizations, and fintech/gaming/TMT business models.
- Support clients undergoing tax audits, investigations, or regulatory reviews, ensuring accurate responses and robust documentation.
- Coordinate directly with regulatory bodies such as the PAGCOR, BIR, SEC, BOI, DOF, and other relevant agencies.
- Work with foreign and regional counsel to assess cross-border tax and legal considerations.
- Assist in implementing internal controls, compliance systems, and risk management frameworks for clients.
- Conduct ongoing research on tax developments, accounting standards, and regulatory changes, and translate them into practical guidance.
- Collaborate closely with our corporate and regulatory legal teams on interdisciplinary matters.
Qualifications
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
- Juris Doctor (JD) from a reputable law school
- Active member of the Philippine Bar
- 3–5 years of substantive experience in tax advisory or corporate tax—ideally from a Big 4 firm or top-tier tax practice
- Strong grounding in Philippine tax law, corporate compliance, and financial reporting principles
- Excellent legal and tax research skills, with the ability to produce clear, concise, and well-supported analyses
- Ability to handle multiple matters, meet deadlines, and interface effectively with clients and regulators
- Strong professionalism, communication skills, and a client-centric mindset
Nice to have
- Experience with fintech, gaming, digital assets, or technology-driven business models
- Exposure to regional or cross-border tax matters
- Experience preparing or reviewing transfer pricing documentation
- Background in financial modeling, tax planning, or structuring international operations
