Office Location:

Position description: The Technical Manager is primarily responsible for maintenance and the delivery of enhancements and technical solutions of the applications assigned to meet and address functional, operational, and compliance requirements of the bank. The Technical Manager is responsible for managing at least more than 3 application systems.

Primary Responsibilities

  • 1. Application Systems Maintenance 1.1 Monitors availability of application systems supported and ensures that the committed Service Level Agreements are met. 1.2 Performs incident and problem management for application systems supported and coordinates with required units and management as necessary. 1.3 Coordinates with business and vendor counterparts for planning, prioritization, and implementation of system requests for the supported applications. 1.4 Performs systems analysis, design, and development. 1.5 Provides guidance to the teams or personnel assigned in the performance of their functions for application support and maintenance. 1.6 Performs applicable reviews for system development and maintenance outputs. 1.7 Maintains an understanding and knowledge of the architecture and processes of the applications handled. 1.8 Provide subject matter expertise or technical knowledge regarding supported application systems to project teams and other units as necessary. 2. Risk and Compliance Management 2.1 Ensures and monitors compliance of applications systems and related processes to the bank and ISG's policies standards, and procedures that are within the Lead Technical Manager's control. 2.2 Prepare status reports on the managed application systems as required. 3. Vendor Management 3.1 Engages software and service providers technical support teams in accordance with the maintenance support agreement. 3.2 Reviews and endorses software and service contracts to ensure that these are aligned with the bank's and ISG's policies and standards and provides maximum benefit for the bank. 4. Administrative Responsibilities and Line Management 4.1 Undertakes regular evaluation of assigned personnel as required. 4.2 Conducts regular conversations with assigned personnel to facilitate performance improvements. 4.3 Ensures compliance of assigned personnel to the personnel policies and standards and escalates issues and concerns to the appropriate unit as necessary. 4.4 Ensures training and development of developers/analysts under the Lead Technical Manager's supervision. 4.5 Participates in process improvements of the bank and ISG. 4.6 Handles management of budgets and costs for items within the scope of control. 4.7 Reviews and routes request for budget availment and process payment
