You own the integrity and accuracy of financial records for a specialized accounting and financial management firm, ensuring every ledger entry, reconciliation, and statement reflects the true state of the business. Your role is central to driving informed decision-making by providing stakeholders with precise, audit-ready financial data.

This is not a general bookkeeping role. You operate within a structured environment where you are responsible for complex financial forecasting, New Zealand compliance, and high-level management reporting. Best suited for seasoned accounting professionals who thrive in technical detail, value disciplined reporting standards, and prefer clear accountability over ambiguity.

YOU'RE LIKELY A STRONG FIT IF YOU HAVE

• Proven experience managing tailored accounting operations, including payroll and compliance reporting.
• A history of developing accurate financial forecasts, budgets, and performance analyses.
• Strong background in utilizing Xero for bookkeeping and financial reporting.

STRONG SIGNALS

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, particularly in data modeling and analysis.

General Ledger & Daily Operations

You own the heartbeat of the financial function—ensuring all daily transactions are captured with zero errors and bank positions are reconciled in real-time.

• Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations
• Maintain and update the general ledger to ensure data integrity
• Oversee daily accounting processes to support operational continuity

Financial Reporting & Management Insights

You own the translation of raw data into strategy—providing the reports that enable leadership to understand performance and risk.

• Prepare comprehensive financial statements and management reports
• Provide essential data for budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis
• Present financial insights that drive informed decision-making for stakeholders

Compliance & Audit Coordination

You own the regulatory safety of the organization—ensuring every process meets international standards and is ready for scrutiny.

• Collaborate with external auditors to facilitate seamless annual reviews
• Ensure all financial operations align with New Zealand compliance and tax standards
• Develop and enforce internal controls to mitigate financial risks
