Role Summary
The Junior Estimator supports Scott Coatings preconstruction efforts by performing digital quantity take-offs, organizing bid documents, assisting in cost breakdowns, and preparing proposal drafts. This is an ideal role for someone early in their construction or estimating career who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and eager to grow.
Work Schedule: 2pm-12am Pacific Standard Time United States (split)
Work Arrangements: Remote
Essential Functions
Perform basic digital quantity take-offs (using Bluebeam or similar tools). It is not necessary to know Bluebeam software; they will train for it.
Assist in reviewing drawings, specifications, and scope documents.
Prepare initial cost breakdowns using Excel templates.
Organize material and vendor/subcontractor pricing for senior estimators.
Support the creation and formatting of bid proposals.
Maintain bid logs, tracking sheets, and follow-up documentation.
Coordinate virtually with senior estimators and project managers.
Qualifications
1+ year of experience in construction, architecture, engineering, or estimating.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PDF markup tools.
Ability to read basic construction drawings (training provided for advanced scopes).
Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication.
Willingness to learn advanced estimating tools and processes.
