Junior Accountant

As a Junior Accountant, you will be an integral part of our Accounting team, contributing to the accurate and efficient day-to-day financial operations of the company. This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various facets of accounting, including payables, disbursements, tax compliance, and general ledger maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

The Junior Accountant will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following core duties:

  • General Accounting & Financial Support
  • Performing essential administrative accounting tasks, such as document verification, accurate data entry into the accounting system, and meticulous filing of all vouchers and financial records.
  • Preparing and filing the Books of Accounts and other mandatory year-end ledger filings.

2. Accounts Payable

  • Timely processing, maintenance and recording of accounts payable records, including verifying invoices and related documents.
  • Preparation of payment and journal vouchers.

3. Accounts Receivable

  • Preparation of billing/invoice, collections receipts, and other supporting documents to our customers.
  • Preparation of sales and journal vouchers.

4. Treasury Management

  • Executing the timely disbursement process under Treasury Management, including check preparation, securing necessary approvals, and releasing payments to vendors and suppliers.
  • Regular follow-up of collections/receivables from customers.
  • Assisting in the daily, weekly, and monthly preparation of the Company's cash position reports.
  • Maintaining and updating bank records and forms, including preparation of records and forms for new accounts.

5. Tax Compliance and Reporting

  • Preparing and submitting mandated monthly, quarterly and annual tax compliance reports to government agencies. This includes, but is not limited to:
  • Filing of monthly compensation taxes.
  • Filing of monthly/quarterly expanded and final withholding tax with the required alpha lists.
  • Preparation and filing of Value Added Tax (VAT) returns.
  • Preparation and filing of Documentary Stamp Tax (DST) returns.
  • Registration of Tax Identification Number (TIN) and other permits of new entities with the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR)

6. Audit and Special Projects

  • Providing comprehensive assistance and documentation support during year-end financial audits and any special regulatory or internal audits.
  • Performing other accounting-related tasks and providing administrative assistance, such as managing accounting files, as needed by the department head.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy or a related financial field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity.

Preferred

  • Prior experience or internship in an accounting environment is a plus.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS).
  • Experience with an accounting software system (e.g., Netsuite, SAP, QuickBooks, Oracle).
  • Knowledge of local tax laws and compliance requirements (specific to the country/region).
