Job Description
The MDM Data Steward representing the Customer Domain is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of customer data across systems, aligning with data governance policies and business objectives. The Data Steward will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define data standards, resolve data quality issues, and support data-driven decision-making.
- Partner with business to understand business strategy and roadmap. Prioritize projects, enhancements, issues, requests, and incidents for data steward, tech and support teams. Be the voice of the customer to the data team
- Lead the backlog grooming sessions with the business. Negotiate the sprint plan with the business based on the available team capacity
- Resolve business challenges and report status

- Present release notes to the business at the end of each sprint.
- Triage and troubleshoot data issues, leveraging system-level knowledge
- Participate in testing and enhancement of data platforms and tools
- Conduct training for business and IT users on data standards and governance practices
- Support automation of data quality checks and lifecycle workflows
- Perform cross-system data reconciliation to ensure consistency across platforms
- Document and share best practices for data stewardship
- Evaluate data impacts of new systems and projects
- Help write testable requirements. Provide system requirements for data quality and monitoring; ensure new projects comply with data architecture, quality, and governance frameworks
- Test new capabilities to ensure they meet data requirements. Ensure new capabilities align with business requirements and strategies.
- Help Data Owner define the data quality and governance framework.
- Help Data Owner define processes and rules for golden records, de-duplication, and approval matrix
- Help define data quality and governance framework including metadata, list of values, reference data, data standards, and data quality rules
- Help Data Owner develop processes for data certification, audits, and remediation plans
- Collaborate with Data Owner to apply standards and resolve issues
- Monitor and report on data quality metrics and dashboards; help resolve data quality incidents
- Define KPIs and SLAs for data quality and data processes

Education & Certifications
Minimum Requirement: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Data Management, or a related field.
Preferred: Advanced certifications in Data Management, ERP Systems (Oracle, SAP), or related disciplines (e.g., DAMA, Six Sigma, or Lean certifications).
Requirements
- Strong expertise in Master Data Management (MDM), with proven ability to maintain governance, accuracy, and compliance.
- Demonstrated leadership and mentoring experience with the ability to guide Analysts and influence cross-functional teams.
- Advanced communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation), with capability to interact effectively with stakeholders at multiple levels.
- Proven proficiency in ERP platforms (Oracle and/or SAP) and MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with reporting and dashboarding tools preferred.
- Applicable knowledge of database maintenance, ERP interfaces, and data governance frameworks.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, able to deliver results under pressure and manage multiple deadlines.
- Experience in process improvement or automation projects is an advantage.
