The Income Audit Associate is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of revenue transactions by reviewing daily income records, reconciling financial data, investigating discrepancies, and supporting revenue reporting activities. The role helps maintain effective internal controls over revenue processes, ensures compliance with accounting standards and company policies, and supports accurate financial reporting. The ideal candidate has experience in income audit, revenue accounting, or a similar finance function, preferably within a hospitality or service-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and validate daily revenue transactions from various business operations, including sales, food and beverage, rooms, events, and other revenue streams.
- Reconcile Point-of-Sale (POS) transactions, cashier reports, and payment settlements to ensure accuracy and completeness of recorded revenue.
- Verify discounts, voids, refunds, and complimentary transactions to ensure proper authorization and compliance with company policies.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly income audit reports, revenue summaries, and supporting documentation.
- Ensure revenue transactions are accurately recorded and properly reflected in the General Ledger.
- Support month-end closing activities by providing revenue reconciliations and required financial reports.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies between operational systems, POS records, and accounting records.
- Identify missing, incomplete, or inaccurate revenue transactions and coordinate with relevant stakeholders for resolution.
- Collaborate with Operations, Finance, and other departments to address revenue-related issues and implement preventive measures.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, internal controls, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Support improvements to revenue monitoring and audit procedures by identifying process gaps and recommending enhancements.
- Provide documentation and assistance for internal and external audit requirements.
- Participate in process improvement and automation initiatives to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of income audit operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field.
- 1–2 years of relevant experience in Income Audit, hospitality accounting, revenue accounting, or a similar finance role.
- Experience using accounting systems such as SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, or similar ERP platforms, as well as Point-of-Sale (POS) systems.
- Good understanding of accounting principles, including GAAP and revenue recognition concepts.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including functions such as VLOOKUP, PivotTables, and data analysis tools.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple departments.
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet reporting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
