Your Role:
As an HR, Payroll and Administration Manager, you will:
  • Lead the end-to-end HR, payroll, rosters, and workforce compliance function for United Petroleumu0027s Australian workforce while based in the Philippines.
  • Oversee timely and accurate Australian payroll processing, ensuring full compliance with modern awards, penalty rates, allowances, and statutory obligations.
  • Supervise and develop the AU-support payroll and compliance team, including Payroll Officers and Deputies responsible for rosters and wage validation.
  • Validate rosters across 400+ Australian sites to ensure compliance with minimum shift lengths, maximum hours, fatigue management, breaks, and public holiday rules.
  • Ensure correct interpretation and application of Australian Modern Awards, including retail, fuel industry, and clerical awards.
  • Manage payroll audits, underpayment reviews, and immediate implementation of Fair Work changes.
  • Oversee HR administration for the Australian workforce, including employment contracts, onboarding, offboarding, personnel records, and HRIS data integrity.
  • Support workplace relations matters, including disciplinary processes, investigations, performance management, and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with Commission Agent Agreements through site audits, documentation reviews, and corrective action tracking.
  • Partner with senior stakeholders to deliver HR strategy, workforce planning, performance management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Co-sign payroll runs with the CFO prior to finance processing and ensure governance standards are met.
What You Need:
Non-negotiables:
  • At least 10 yearsu0027 experience in Australian payroll and HR, including end-to-end payroll leadership.
  • Proven expertise in Australian award interpretation, Fair Work Act compliance, and penalty rule application.
  • Hands-on experience validating rosters against Australian employment legislation.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and compliance governance capabilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence engaging AU-based stakeholders.
Preferred skills / expertise:
  • Experience supporting Australian retail, fuel, QSR, or hospitality environments.
  • Background in BPO or shared services supporting Australian clients.
  • Demonstrated experience managing and developing a small HR/payroll team.
  • Strong documentation, policy development, and HR administration expertise.
  • Intermediate proficiency in MS Office applications with high attention to detail.
