About the Role
We are seeking an experienced General Ledger Accountant to support our client in the flooring and distribution industry. The role focuses on maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and handling key month-end close activities. This position requires strong technical accounting skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, client-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review accurate and timely journal entries.
- Execute month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Manage AR and AP transactions, including invoicing, payment posting, and collections tracking.
- Perform and resolve detailed bank reconciliations.
- Support the preparation of financial statements and reports.
- Ensure adherence to internal controls, accounting standards, and company policies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and assist with internal and external audits.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of General Ledger experience, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close.
- Strong understanding of AR and AP processes.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred:
- Experience in distribution, manufacturing, or retail industries.
- Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite.
- CPA or CMA certification (or in progress).
