General Ledger Accountant (NetSuite)

Work Arrangement / Work Shift: Remote / Independent Contractor

Role Overview:

We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive General Ledger Accountant to support month-end and year-end close activities, maintain accurate financial records, and collaborate closely with the Accounting Manager. This role requires hands-on NetSuite experience and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, international environment.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Perform general ledger entries and complete bank and account reconciliations on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
• Support the Accounting Manager with month-end close (MEC) and year-end close (YEC) activities.
• Prepare and post accruals, deferrals, reclassifications, and intercompany journal entries for review.
• Assist with balancing intercompany transactions and support tax/VAT accounting and related reporting.
• Support data consolidation and import/export activities between financial systems.
• Participate in treasury functions to ensure appropriate segregation of duties.
• Contribute to process improvements, automation initiatives, and system optimizations.
• Ensure accounting practices comply with relevant regulations and perform regular checks and audits to maintain data accuracy.
• Provide cross-functional finance support, including assistance to AP, AR, and HR with reconciliations, consolidations, and regulatory guidance.

What You'll Need:

• 35 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Hands-on General Ledger accounting experience, including reconciliations, journal entries, balance sheet management, and month-end close.
• Practical NetSuite experience, including CSV uploads, payroll file processing, and balance sheet reviews.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data imports and adjustments.

• Familiarity with Power Query for Excel to manage data imports (can be learned on the job).
• Ability to handle more complex imports such as special journals or bonus accruals (training will be provided).
• Experience in the SaaS industry.
