Job Summary
The
General Accountant is responsible for managing and maintaining the companys financial records, ensuring accuracy, compliance with accounting standards, and timely reporting. This role supports the finance department by preparing financial statements, reconciling accounts, and assisting with budgeting and audits.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and reports.
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.
- Reconcile bank statements, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
- Prepare journal entries and general ledger adjustments.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and management reports.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, policies, and regulations.
- Support budget preparation and financial forecasting.
- Assist with internal and external audits by providing required documentation.
- Monitor company expenses and ensure proper cost allocation.
- Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 or 3 years of accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
