Job Description

About:

Voyager Tennis operates a growing portfolio of managed tennis facilities across Australia. We are passionate about the game, serious about excellence, and committed to building a business that stands for integrity, innovation, and outstanding service. As we scale, we are building a world-class internal team to match our ambitions — and this role sits at the heart of that.

The Opportunity:

This is a broad, hands-on finance leadership role reporting directly to the Managing Director. You will own the full financial management cycle — from budgeting and forecasting through to the day-to-day financial operations of our group. The role carries genuine strategic weight: your analysis and insights will directly influence business decisions, while your operational rigour will ensure our financial engine runs cleanly and efficiently. This is a role for someone who is equally comfortable at the strategic level and deep in the detail — reviewing expense lines, managing payroll, scrutinising procurement, and keeping our financial records accurate, complete, and well-governed.

What you'll own:

Financial Reporting & P&L Analysis

  • Lead monthly P&L analysis across all entities and cost centres, translating numbers into clear, actionable management insights

•    Prepare and distribute monthly financial dashboards and management reports to the MD

•    Provide formal monthly sign-off on accounts and produce written commentary that goes beyond the numbers

Budgeting & Planning

•    Lead the annual budgeting process across all group entities

•    Produce monthly budget vs. actual reporting and proactively flag variances

•    Partner with the MD on financial planning and business decision-making

Payroll & Cost Control

•    Review and verify all timesheets across the group prior to each pay run, checking for errors, anomalies, and unauthorised hours

•    Scrutinise all operational expenditure to identify inefficiencies and non-compliant spend

•    Establish and enforce approval workflows and expenditure thresholds

•    Monitor supplier pricing and identify renegotiation opportunities

Procurement Governance

•    Design and implement a fit-for-purpose procurement framework covering vendor selection, POs, and contract management

•    Maintain a preferred supplier register and manage key vendor relationships

•    Train and upskill team members on procurement processes

Revenue Assurance & Audit

•    Conduct quarterly financial audits across all entities, identifying revenue leakage, unbilled services, and billing errors

•    Deliver a written Quarterly Audit Report to the MD within 10 business days of each quarter end

•    Implement systematic billing checks to ensure no services are delivered without associated revenue capture

Financial Controls & Governance

•    Strengthen internal controls across payables, receivables, payroll, and reporting

•    Manage the annual audit process and preparation of statutory accounts across the group

•    Maintain a risk register with documented mitigation strategies

What are we looking for

•    CA / CPA qualified (or equivalent), with 5+ years post-qualification experience in a hands-on financial controller or senior finance role

•    Proven experience across full-cycle financial management — budgeting, P&L, payroll, AP/AR, and audit

•    Strong working knowledge of Xero (experience with multi-entity structures highly regarded)

•    Detail-oriented with a track record of identifying cost savings, revenue leakage, and control weaknesses

•    Excellent written communication skills — you can turn a P&L into a narrative, not just a spreadsheet

•    Experience in hospitality, leisure, sport, or venue management is a bonus — but not essential.

Why Voyager Tennis

•    Direct access to the MD — your insights will genuinely influence business strategy

•    A growing group with real career development opportunities as we expand

•    Fully remote role — work from anywhere in the Philippines

•    A values-led, high-performance culture where excellence and integrity are lived, not just listed

•    Be part of a business doing something it loves — and doing it well
