The Finance Manager/Financial Controller is a senior leadership position responsible for adding strategic value as a business partner through financial planning & analysis, whilst ensuring robust financial reporting and compliance. The role is pivotal in driving strategic decision making through insightful financial analysis, forecasting, budgeting, while also maintaining the integrity of financial statements and adherence to internal and external standards.
Key responsibilities:
Financial Planning & Analysis
- Lead the development of long-term financial plans, annual budgets, and forecasts.
- Provide in-depth financial analysis to support strategic decision-making and operational efficiency.
- Monitor business performance against financial targets and identify variances, risks, and opportunities.
- Drive continuous improvement in financial modeling, scenario planning, and cost optimization initiatives.
Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Oversee preparation of accurate and timely financial statements in compliance with accounting standards, particularly during month-end closing.
- Ensure adherence to tax regulations, statutory requirements, and corporate governance standards.
- Manage internal and external audit processes, ensuring resolution of audit findings.
- Maintain strong internal controls and risk management frameworks to safeguard company assets.
Strategic Management
- Act as a key business partner to senior leadership, providing financial insights for strategic initiatives.
- Lead cross-functional projects to enhance profitability, operational efficiency, and business growth.
- Mentor and develop finance team members, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
- Represent the finance function in regional and global forums, aligning local priorities with group strategy.
Administration
- Work closely with internal and external stakeholders including our holdings office, financial shared services team, tax consultants, corporate secretary and legal partners, banks, amongst others.
- Ensure efficient management of contracts, procurement, and vendor relationships.
- Implement and maintain financial systems and processes to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Oversee administrative compliance for regulatory filings and documentation.
Qualifications
- At least 10 years in finance and accounting, with well-rounded experience in financial reporting & compliance (general accounting, AP, AR, tax compliance)
- 5 to 7 years leading/managing a team.
- Must have experience handling end to end finance and accounting in a multinational or large local corporate/conglomerate
- Previous experience as a financial controller is a plus
- Experience in complex financial planning & analysis is a bonus, but an interest is essential
