GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The Financial Controller - Senior Manager is responsible for safeguarding the company's financial capabilities by managing financial operations, ensuring compliance with accounting and tax regulations, optimizing cash flow and liquidity, and providing financial analysis and decision support to senior management.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Budgeting and Analysis
- Conducts monthly analysis of company's financial performance, balance sheet, cash flow, and other necessary analyses;
- Reviews and maintains regular financial planning reports, including monthly financial reports of expenses compared to the approved budget, providing analysis of variances and recommendations for corrective actions;
- Ensures the timely preparation and development of corporate financial and operating budgets, and monthly and yearly forecasts and estimates, to provide accurate and reliable financial projections as input for the top management's decision-making;
- Develops and maintains the capital and operational budget, to align their allocation with the company's strategic objectives and financial targets; and
- Assesses, evaluates and provides insight and recommendations to the financial performance of the company with regard to its short-term, medium-term, and long-term operational goals, budgets, and forecasts.
Tax and Regulatory Compliance and Internal Controls
- Ensures timely and accurate compliance with all financial regulatory requirements imposed by the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA), local government units (LGUs), and other relevant institutions;
- Coordinates the preparation, review, and finalization of company Policies and Procedures with various departments, ensuring alignment with best practices, industry standards, and regulatory requirements;
- Ensures that the established OKRs and KPIs of the Company are quantifiable and tied directly to its goals and priorities to meet its desired financial outcomes;
- Conducts periodic reviews of the accounting and business processes of company to identify areas for improvement to minimize the company's tax exposures, and look for cost reduction/process improvements to enhance the operational efficiency of company ;
- Leads and manages the overall tax compliance function of the company, ensuring timely and accurate completion of all tax filings, and tax payments to minimize tax compliance risk;
- Conducts tax planning activities to identify opportunities for minimizing the company's tax liabilities, including analyzing legal techniques. And implements efforts to maximize tax efficiency while ensuring compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations; and
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams to implement management-approved tax strategies, ensuring their effective execution and alignment with the organizations overall business goals.
Cash Flow and Liquidity Management
- Develops and implements accurate cash forecasting methodologies to ensure the availability of funds and anticipate the company's future cash inflows and outflows;
- Evaluates and implement strategies to optimize the Company's working capital, including managing accounts payable and receivable, dis inventory levels, and cash conversion cycles;
- Monitors regularly the company's liquidity position to ensure that funds are available to meet ongoing operational requirements, debt obligations, and projects;
- Generates comprehensive cash flow reports and provides regular updates to the Company Board highlighting key insights and recommending strategies to optimize cash flow performance;
- Evaluates the financial impact of investment opportunities, property acquisitions, development of new real-estate products, etc. to the Company as input to strategic decision-making of the management; and
- Monitors and approves company s expenditures to ensure adherence to budgetary guidelines of the Company and promotes responsible financial practices
Administration
- Develops and implements accurate cash forecasting methodologies to ensure the availability of funds and anticipate the company's future cash inflows and outflows;
- Supervises and manages the Accounting, Finance, Treasury, and Budget section, providing leadership, guidance, and support to foster a high-performing team;
- Coordinates periodic financial and tax audits, to ensure proper preparation, documentation, and compliance with audit requirements;
- Assists and supervises the submission of documents requested by lending institutions in relation to securing funds for projects and general corporate funding requirements, ensuring timely and accurate submission to facilitate financing arrangements and maintain positive relationships with lenders.
Other Tasks
- Performs other related tasks as may be assigned by the Chief Financial Officer / President depending on the exigencies of the Organization.
JOB PROFILE
Educational Background
- The candidate must be a graduate with a bachelor's degree in Accountancy, preferably with a Master's Degree in Accountancy/Finance or any related graduate program.
Professional Background
- Must have at least a minimum of 10 years of experience relevant in various areas of Finance and Accounting and 8 years of managerial experience preferably in Property Management or Real Estate industry
- Must be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
Knowledge Requirements
- Must have extensive knowledge and understanding of current tax laws and regulations in the real estate industry in the Philippines;
- Must have extensive knowledge of financial principles, accounting standards, budgeting, and cost control processes and procedures;
- Must have extensive knowledge of the Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS); and
- Must be knowledgeable in using a computerized accounting system
