Schedule: Morning Shift
The company operates a number of learn to swim centres in NSW and is looking for an experienced Financial Controller to control all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal control policies and procedures.
As the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for the control of all the financial aspects of the business including providing accurate and timely financial and management reporting, the integrity of all operational systems, internal controls over the groups financial procedures, including both operational and financial systems and process improvements.
The role will support the CEO in providing timely, regular and accurate business performance and trending information. The acquisition and development of additional swim school sites will require a strong focus on system integration and improvement. Ensuring that controlled, efficient and effective IT systems are in place.
You will also be involved in the assessment and appraisal of potential acquisition and development opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- The accurate and timely delivery of the Company's financial and management reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements and reports
- Providing financial and operational support to the CEO
- Setting annual financial budgets, completing forecasts and cash flow analysis
- Compliance with financial covenants and ongoing reporting required under loan terms
- Managing all tax compliance (including FBT and GST)
- Ensuring the business meets its statutory and regulatory reporting obligations
- Managing the annual year end audit and other regulatory audit requirements
- Authorizing payroll and supplier payments
- Managing and reviewing the outsourced accounting and data entry functions
- Providing ad hoc financial support to the group
Qualification And Requirements
- CPA or CA qualified
- Proven experience in a similar role in a commercial environment, at least 6 years experience
- In-depth knowledge and experience in financial principles, regulations and reporting
- Systems improvement and implementation experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with external service providers
- The ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a focused team
- Passion to make a positive contribution to the business

- Proven experience in a similar role in a commercial environment
