We are looking for a Financial Controller to oversee and manage end-to-end financial operations. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate reporting, strong internal controls, and full compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and handle end-to-end financial operations, including day-to-day accounting activities such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger management, and monthly reporting, as well as the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports -monthly, quarterly, and annual - in compliance with applicable accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, local GAAP).
- Prepare and present financial reports and analyses to senior management and stakeholders, providing actionable insights for decision-making.
- Prepare financial statements to meet local GAAP requirements.
- Prepare financial data for regulatory submissions (e.g., regulatory bodies in each jurisdiction).
- Lead audit preparation, coordinating with external auditors and all stakeholders, ensuring all required documentation and processes are in place.
- Enhance finance and accounting control processes to ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal policies.
- Monitor cash flow and optimize capital efficiency.
- Lead annual audits with approved auditing firms.
- Manage regulatory compliance reporting and support on-site inspections.
Key Qualifications
- More than 8 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting, with a strong background in financial reporting and experience in payment or fintech companies.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional certifications (preferred): ACCA, CPA, ICAEW, or equivalent.
- Experience with financial closing processes and business strategy support.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP platforms).
- Deep understanding of financial regulations, accounting standards (IFRS & Philippine GAAP), and tax compliance requirements.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and present complex information in a clear and actionable manner.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to communicate financial information to both financial and non-financial stakeholders. Proficiency in Chinese is a plus.
