About the Role

The Finance Operations Manager is the engine room of assisting senior management with monitoring and maximizing the company's financial health. Reporting to the Director of Operations, you will bridge the gap between high-level cash planning and daily execution. This isn't just a numbers role; it's a process role. You will oversee accounts payable, coordinate with lending facilities, manage payroll, and ensure the company remains audit-ready as they continue to expand their product lines and global footprint. You will also play a key role in building and refining processes and procedures that will ensure that the tasks within your scope are accomplished on an efficient and accurate basis.

Responsibilities

• Cash Flow Oversight: Calculate weekly cash requirements (Opex, Payroll, Marketing, Inventory) and provide data-driven insights to support leadership in cash planning decisions.
• Payables & Vendor Management: Review weekly A/P, determine payment timing based on urgency and cash availability, and manage the full payment lifecycle for both domestic and global suppliers.
• Process Documentation: Develop, document, and maintain Finance SOPs (A/P workflows, payroll processes, tax calendars) to ensure the department is audit-ready.
• Payroll & Admin: Manage the payroll process via Gusto, including reimbursements, state-specific compliance, and benefit deductions.
• Financial Reporting Support: Assist with lending facility reporting (borrowing base, inventory aging) and coordinate with external CPAs for tax filings and year-end close.

Competencies and Qualifications

Must-Have

• A deep understanding of cash flow principles and forecasting for a physical-product/inventory brand.
• Solid, hands-on experience with accounting platforms (e.g., QuickBooks or Xero).
• At least 3–5 years of experience in finance or accounting operations (experience in E-commerce/DTC is a major plus).
• Proven ability to build and document financial processes from scratch.
• Ability to read and interpret financial statements and aging reports.

Nice-to-Have

• Experience with lending facility reporting and multi-state sales tax monitoring.
• Prior experience using Gusto for payroll administration.
• Specific, advanced experience within the Xero ecosystem.
• Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets including building forecast models.
