Job Description:

Staff Management & Mentorship

  • Team Leadership: Supervise and guide your finance team through the full accounting cycle, providing hands-on mentorship to develop their skills and professional growth.
  • Succession Planning: Proactively identify and mentor potential successors to ensure continuity and a strong talent pipeline within the team.

Financial Systems & Process Mastery

  • System Ownership: Become the primary subject matter expert by developing a deep understanding of the company's and client's financial systems, reporting tools, and operational workflows.
  • Continuous Improvement: Actively promote continuous process improvement, identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Documentation & Standardization: Ensure all financial processes, from journal entries to client reporting, are properly documented and standardized.

Reporting & Client Relations

  • Reporting Oversight: Oversee the preparation and delivery of accurate and timely financial data and reports.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with the team, cross-functional departments, and stakeholders, showcasing leadership in regular weekly and monthly meetings.
  • Client Financials: Oversee the maintenance of client financials, guaranteeing they are complete, accurate, and readily available for review.
  • Client Satisfaction: Ensure high levels of client satisfaction by maintaining strong relationships and resolving issues effectively.
  • Client Report Assistance: Conduct financial analysis and develop recommendations for client reports, adapting to specific reporting requirements.

Technical Expertise

  • Accounting & Financial Analysis: Possess a strong grasp of accounting principles, financial analysis, and reporting standards (e.g., PFRS, PAS).
  • Software Proficiency: Proficient in financial accounting software and Microsoft systems, especially google sheets, and be able to quickly learn and adapt to new platforms.

Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills

  • Attention to Detail: Demonstrate a meticulous, detail-oriented approach to ensure the accuracy and integrity of all financial transactions and reports.
  • Process Improvement: Display a proven ability to evaluate current financial processes, identify inefficiencies, and propose effective, data-driven solutions.

Communication & Interpersonal Skills

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaboration with internal teams and external clients to align financial activities with broader organizational goals.
  • Stakeholder Management: Effectively communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders, fostering transparency and a shared understanding.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education and Certification:A Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required. A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is highly preferred.
  • Professional Experience:A minimum of five (5) years of relevant finance or accounting experience is required, with at least three (3) years in a supervisory or leadership role that includes mentorship.
  • Technical Proficiency:Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with financial software (e.g., QuickBooks, XERO) is essential.
  • Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills:Must possess excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with a meticulous attention to detail to ensure the accuracy and integrity of all financial operations.
  • Communication & Leadership:Must have exceptional oral and written communication skills and a proven record of leading and inspiring a team.
