Job Description
The Finance Manager is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the client and related entities while providing high-quality financial support to Owners Corporation (OC) Managers and Member Businesses.
The role ensures accurate financial reporting, compliance with statutory obligations, effective management of OC financial accounts within Property IQ, and continuous improvement of finance processes across the organisation.
The position also manages the finance team and contributes to strategic initiatives that improve operational efficiency and financial performance.
POSITION CONTEXT
This is a hybrid leadership and operational role responsible for:
- Corporate financial management of Select Assist and related entities
- Financial administration and support for Member Businesses and Owners Corporations
- Oversight of finance team operations and back-office accounting processes
- Process improvement and financial reporting for executive decision making
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Operations Management
- Manage the day-to-day financial operations of the client and related entities.
- Supervise daily bank downloads and financial transactions for Owners Corporations.
- Ensure accurate recording of all financial transactions across accounting systems.
- Maintain financial integrity across Property IQ and QuickBooks platforms.
- Monitor financial controls, security and access to accounting systems.
- Support OC Managers with financial queries and provide technical advice regarding financial matters.
- Corporate Finance Management
Responsible for financial management of the client and related corporate entities.
Financial Administration
- Manage supplier payments and corporate disbursements.
- Supervise invoice processing and financial data entry.
- Manage corporate bank transactions and reconciliations.
- Maintain general ledger including journals for accruals, prepayments, depreciation and amortisation.
- Manage company debit cards and associated reconciliations.
Payroll
- Prepare and process fortnightly payroll, including:
- Commissions
- Leave adjustments
- Superannuation contributions
- Payroll deductions.
Financial Reporting
- Prepare monthly management reports and financial statements.
- Provide rolling forecasts and financial insights to the GM and Directors.
- Track insurance commission revenue and reconcile payments received.
- Manage FFN holding funds and related reconciliations.
Budgeting
- Prepare annual corporate budgets and financial forecasts in collaboration with the General Manager.
- Statutory Compliance and Tax Reporting
- Prepare and lodge statutory returns including:
- BAS
- IAS
- Income Tax Returns
- Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT).
- Ensure compliance with Australian Taxation Office requirements.
- Manage GST obligations for corporate entities and relevant Owners Corporations.
- Owners Corporation Financial Management
Financial Processing
- Supervise daily downloads of OC bank transactions.
- Manage supplier payments and lot owner reimbursements.
- Process management and administration fee withdrawals.
- Manage FFN and LOD withdrawals, refunds and cancellations.
- Monitor arrears and coordinate follow-ups for outstanding balances.
Reconciliations
- Oversee monthly bank reconciliations for all Owners Corporations.
- Identify and resolve financial discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate records for reporting and audit purposes.
Financial Adjustments
- Process financial adjustments requested by OC Managers.
Financial Support
- Respond to finance enquiries from OC Managers and Licensees.
- Resolve supplier payment issues.
- Liaise with Property IQ regarding financial system issues.
- Provide financial guidance to strata managers where required.
- Owners Corporation Lifecycle Management
Building Onboarding
- Manage financial onboarding of new Owners Corporations including:
- Account setup
- Bank details
- Financial records
- Property IQ configuration.
Building Offboarding
- Manage financial closure processes for departing Owners Corporations including:
- Final reconciliations
- Transfer of financial records
- Account closures.
- Billing and Revenue Management
- Raise invoices for tenants and member businesses.
- Monitor outstanding balances and follow up arrears.
- Maintain accurate allocation of revenue within financial systems.
- Manage internal charges between Select Assist and related entities.
- Finance Team Leadership
- Manage and lead the Finance team.
- Conduct daily team check-ins.
- Allocate and monitor team workloads.
- Review financial work completed by the team.
- Provide technical support and mentoring.
- Manage complex financial enquiries from licensees.
- Process Improvement and Strategic Contribution
- Identify opportunities to improve finance systems and processes.
- Recommend enhancements to Property IQ financial workflows.
- Support strategic initiatives aimed at improving financial efficiency across the organisation.
- Contribute to making Select Assist a leading provider of strata financial services.

Qualification And Requirements
- CA or CPA qualification preferred.
Experience
- Experience in senior financial management.
- Minimum 2 years in a leadership or managerial role.
- Experience working with accounting software (QuickBooks preferred).
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
