Job Description

As Estimator, you will work collaboratively with the Procurement and Estimating Manager, Design, Delivery, and Client Relations & Service (CRS) teams to compile project cost estimates. Working within a Design and Construct business, this estimation process is to be completed at different times throughout the design process, with varying degrees of supporting documentation.

Estimates will require the completion of detailed take-offs from project documentation (or provided briefing information) to create client submission-ready cost schedules. The estimation process may also require sourcing of quotations from external vendors and coordination of formal tender processes to achieve this.

Work Setup: Full-time; Regular; Morning - 6:30am-3:30pm PH Time; Hybrid - 3x onsite / week Makati Office (One Ayala)

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate, attend and compile detailed notes from design and CRS briefings to determine design intent and establish project requirements.
  • Utilise Cubit (Buildsoft) and the Cachet rate library to complete detailed take-offs of all trades using conceptual layout plans, look and feel / Concept Imagery and detailed documentation (when available).
  • Define and develop scope of works, establish project requirements and complete detailed lists of clarifications and exclusions to accompany cost estimates.
  • Complete review meetings with General Managers, find creative solutions and undertake cost schedule updates to suit the commercial imperatives of the final cost submission.
  • Take meeting minutes of review meetings and make final changes prior to converting the Cubit take off into a client facing cost schedule (via Excel).
  • Provide handover package to General Manager including final formatted cost schedule detailing all applicable Exclusions and clarifications, Value engineering solutions, cost saving options, key risks and summary of expected profit margin position.
  • Attend weekly Estimating workflow meetings to forecast upcoming workload.
  • Provide advice to design team on budget suitability of various construction methods, material and furniture selections through informal interaction and structure Design to Budget meetings.
  • Manage Vendor list for each Cachet office including adding contractors and incorporating feedback from the Design and Delivery teams on contractor performance.

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years as Estimator or any similar role
  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field (e.g., Construction Management, Engineering)
  • Excellent Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyze complex information and identify potential cost drivers.
  • Proficiency in Estimating Software and Tools: Experience with relevant estimating software and tools is essential.
  • Excellent Communication and Presentation Skills: Ability to effectively communicate complex information to diverse audiences.
