The Role
The ideal candidate must possess hands-on experience to design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and data platforms across multi-cloud environments (Google Cloud Platform and AWS). This role will work closely with analytics, BI, and product teams to ensure data is reliable, secure, and analytics-ready.
Your Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable and reliable data pipelines across GCP and AWS
- Build and optimise ETL/ELT processes for structured and semi-structured data
- Develop and manage data models optimised for analytics and reporting use cases
- Integrate data from multiple sources including APIs, databases, cloud storage, and third-party platforms
- Ensure data quality, consistency, performance, and reliability
- Collaborate with BI, Analytics, and Engineering teams to support reporting and insights
- Implement and maintain data security, access controls, and governance standards
- Monitor data pipelines, troubleshoot issues, and improve system performance
- Contribute to documentation, best practices, and continuous improvement initiatives
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field is preferred
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Data Engineer or similar role
- Strong proficiency in SQL and data modelling
- Hands-on experience with GCP (e.g. BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataflow) and AWS (e.g. S3, Redshift, Glue, Lambda)
- Experience building and maintaining batch and/or streaming data pipelines
- Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and architectures
- Experience working in Agile or iterative delivery environments
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Experience with Python or similar scripting languages
- Exposure to workflow orchestration tools (e.g. Airflow)
- Experience supporting BI or reporting tools (e.g. Looker Studio, Tableau, Power BI)
- Familiarity with DevOps or CI/CD practices for data platforms
- Experience working in regulated or data-sensitive environment
