We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled
Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst / Business Analyst to join our team. This role is crucial in bridging the gap between business needs and technical solutions, primarily focusing on data analysis, reporting, and process improvement within a dynamic, high-growth environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesData Pipeline & Reporting:- Collaborate with data engineering teams to design and optimize ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) pipelines, ensuring the accurate and timely availability of data for all reporting and analytics requirements.
- Partner with data analytics teams to gather and integrate data from multiple source systems (e.g., ERP, CRM, supply chain systems).
- Develop and maintain automated Power BI dashboards to provide business stakeholders with actionable insights into key trends such as cycle planning, sales performance, and demand forecasting.
Requirements Elicitation & Documentation:- Conduct thorough requirement elicitation sessions with business users.
- Develop clear user stories and to-be process diagrams to effectively communicate customer requirements to the development team.
- Prepare comprehensive technical documentation, including various diagrams like Entity Relationship Diagrams (ERD), Data Flow Diagrams (DFD), Input-Process-Output (IPO) diagrams, and Flow Diagrams.
Quality Assurance & Go-Live:- Responsible for preparing detailed test scripts and conducting User Acceptance Testing (UAT) of new programs or applications to ensure they meet user requirements and are accepted before Go-Live.
QualificationsExperience: Minimum 3+ years of experience in a business analysis, BI/reporting, or accounting role.Technical Proficiency:- Strong proficiency in Power BI for dashboard development and reporting.
- Expertise in Excel for data manipulation and analysis.
- Strong command of data integration tools and technologies, including Microsoft Fabric, SQL, and APIs.
Regulatory & Market Knowledge:- Essential: Proven experience working with Australian clients and an understanding of the Australian regulatory environment.
Analytical & Communication:- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex business needs into clear, executable technical solutions.
Future Tech Exposure: Exposure to modern automation initiatives, including
RPA (Robotic Process Automation) and AI/ML.
Preferred Qualifications (Advantageous)- Industry Experience: Experience in the insurance broking sector.
- System Familiarity: Familiarity with accounting and broking software such as Xero, WinBEAT, Insight, iBAIS, and project management tools like Monday.com.
- Complexity Management: Experience working in multi-entity, multi-ledger financial environments.
- Governance: An understanding of data governance, security, and compliance frameworks (e.g., Australian Privacy Act, ISO/NIST).
