In the Philippines, IPG Mediabrands was founded in 2015 by the late and beloved Venus Reyes-Navalta and is registered in SEC as IPG Mediabrands Philippines, Inc. We are structured in the country as an umbrella company of a number of brands or business units such as UM (media agency), Initiative (media agency), Magna, Orion, MediaBrands Content Studio (MBCS) plus our now affiliates Kinesso, Reprise (performance marketing) and Matterkind (programmatic / addressable media) which unified into one business unit still called Kinesso that incorporated its own company in 2021 to form Kinesso Philippines, Inc.

We are looking for a COPYWRITER who can join our Mediabrands Content Studio (MBCS) team:

POSITION IDENTIFICATION

  • Organization Description: Mediabrands Content Studio is a global creative network that develops and produces content for brands across various platforms.
  • Job Position Summary: The Copywriter is responsible for crafting compelling and effective copy across a variety of platforms, with a focus on understanding and leveraging local trends OR creating new trends, injecting the proper tone where appropriate, and adapting to diverse writing formats. This role requires understanding of advertising principles, writing skills, and having the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Reports To (Position): Senior Copywriter / Creative Director

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Copywriting & Content Creation: Develop original and engaging copy concepts that align with client objectives and brand guidelines. Write copy for a variety of channels, including digital, social media, print, video scripts, websites, and more. Adapt writing style and tone to suit different target audiences and platforms. Incorporate local trends, cultural nuances, and appropriate tone into copy.
  • Strategic Thinking and Innovation: Stay up-to-date on current local trends, popular culture, and social media happenings in the Philippines. Stay up-to-date on industry trends and emerging technologies. Contribute to the development of creative strategies and innovative solutions. Identify opportunities to improve the quality and effectiveness of copy output.
  • Collaboration & Teamwork: Work closely with art directors, designers, and other team members to develop integrated creative concepts. Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute creative ideas. Collaborate with account management to understand client needs and objectives.
  • Quality Control & Editing: Ensure all copy is accurate, grammatically correct, and adheres to brand voice. Proofread and edit copy to maintain high standards of quality.

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS

  • Education: Preferably a graduate of Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Level of Experience: 1-2 years of solid experience in copywriting, with a focus on advertising and content creation.
  • Required Competencies and Disposition: Exceptional writing and editing skills. A strong understanding of local trends, popular culture, and social media in the Philippines. A proven ability to write in a variety of formats and styles. A good sense of humor and the ability to inject it appropriately into copy. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
  • A portfolio showcasing a diverse range of copywriting work.
  • A proactive and creative mindset.
