Contractual Senior Data Engineer (Remote)

D.W. Morgan is looking for a Contractual Senior Data Engineer to help design, build, and maintain high-performance data systems that support analytics, reporting, and global business decision-making.

In this role, you will transform complex raw data into clean, reliable, and scalable datasets. You will work closely with Data Owners, IT Managers, Technical Architects, Infrastructure, Cybersecurity teams, business users, customers, and vendor partners to implement data-centric initiatives across the organization. Key responsibilities include improving data quality and governance, building data pipelines, supporting data warehouse integration, implementing data storage and archiving strategies, and helping prepare legacy data for AI-ready use cases.

We are looking for a technical data leader with at least 5 years of Data Engineering experience, strong knowledge of database management, ETL, data warehousing, SQL performance tuning, analytics and BI tools, Python or other scripting languages, Git, cloud computing services, and Agile practices. The ideal candidate is proactive, communicates well with stakeholders, can manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, and is comfortable mentoring junior engineers.

Experience with Apache Airflow, Prefect, Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue, Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Snowflake, Databricks, dbt, BigQuery, DuckDB, Pandas, Polars, CI/CD, and Power BI is an advantage.
