Job Purpose:

The Change Approval Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing and managing the approval process for changes to the organization's systems, applications, and infrastructure. They ensure that proposed changes are reviewed, assessed, and approved in accordance with established policies and procedures. This role collaborates with cross-functional teams, including IT, project managers, and business stakeholders, to ensure that change requests are properly evaluated, and potential risks are mitigated.

Job Responsibilities:

1) Change Approval Process

  • Oversee and manage the change approval process, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to gather information and assess proposed changes.

2) Change Evaluation and Risk Assessment

  • Review and evaluate change requests, considering potential risks, benefits, and impacts on the organization.
  • Make recommendations for change approvals or rejections, based on evaluation and input.

3) Change Tracking and Reporting

  • Monitor the progress of approved changes and track their implementation.
  • Report on the status of change requests and approvals to relevant stakeholders.

4) Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve the change approval process and implement best practices.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to enhance change management policies and procedures.

Internal Relationships:

  • IT Teams: Collaborate on change requests and their potential impacts on systems and infrastructure.
  • Project Managers: Coordinate change approvals within project timelines and deliverables.
  • Business Stakeholders: Ensure alignment of change approvals with business objectives.

External Relationships:

  • Technology Vendors: Coordinate change approvals related to external systems and services.
  • Industry Associations: Stay updated on change management trends and best practices.

Education/Training Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Information Technology).
  • Change management or ITIL certification is preferred.

  • Experience:
  • 3-5 years of experience in change management, IT service management, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of change management principles and best practices.
  • Experience in collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
