Job Description

Job Summary

The Business Development Officer supports KRM's growth initiatives by executing and coordinating business development activities across channels, partnerships, product support, and marketing programs. Working under the direction of the Business Development Manager, the role focuses on day-to-day execution, managing partner relationships, and contributing market insights that support broader commercial and expansion strategies.

This role is ideal for a commercially minded professional with strong execution capability, stakeholder coordination skills, and emerging leadership experience within the insurance sector.

Key Responsibilities

Channel and Partner Development

Support the identification and development of emerging distribution avenues and partnerships in line with approved strategic business development plans

Supervise and coordinate partner onboarding activities, documentation, and relationship management efforts

Maintain regular engagement with insurance partners and affinity partners to support pipeline development

Track partner performance and provide updates, insights, and recommendations to the Business Development Manager

Support and coordinate the establishment of B2B and B2C relationships, working with internal teams and partners to strengthen client engagement, distribution channels, and market presence.

Product Development Support

Assist in analyzing market trends, competitor offerings, and client feedback to support product development initiatives

Coordinate with insurance partners and internal teams during product design and rollout

Support product documentation, partner alignment, and go-to-market readiness activities

Brand and Marketing Execution

Execute approved marketing and brand initiatives to strengthen KRM's market presence

Coordinate marketing campaigns, partner engagement activities, and thought leadership events

Supervise vendors, content development, and campaign timelines to ensure alignment with commercial objectives

Monitor campaign performance and prepare reports and recommendations for management review

Business Strategy and Expansion Support

Support the Business Development Manager and Chief Commercial Officer in implementing strategic growth and expansion initiatives

Conduct market research and prepare briefing materials, presentations, and analysis for management discussions

Provide operational and market insights to support competitive positioning and new business opportunities

Assist in the use of digital tools, AI, and technology solutions to improve business development efficiency and market intelligence

Support client and partner events and engagements, contributing to lead generation, relationship development, and business pipeline growth.

Experience:

35 years of experience in sales/business development, marketing, or commercial roles within insurance, reinsurance, or financial services

Prior experience in coordinating projects, events, supervising junior staff, or managing vendors is an advantage

Education:

Bachelor's degree required

Strong commercial and execution mindset with the ability to translate strategy into action

Effective stakeholder coordination and relationship management skills

Solid communication and presentation skills with emerging executive presence

Experience supporting marketing initiatives and partner programs

Analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail

Working knowledge of digital tools, AI-enabled platforms, design, or automation solutions is an advantage

Knowledgeable and experienced regarding Life and Non-Life Insurance. Preferably a Basic Non-Life Insurance Exam passer

Applies critical thinking to assess business situations, interpret data, and support problem-solving and decision-making processes.

Communicates effectively and professionally with internal teams, clients, and partners, supporting coordination, alignment, and relationship management.

Promotes a client-centric and service-oriented culture, supporting consistent service delivery and positive client and partner experiences.
