Job Overview

You'll be the crucial first point of contact for qualified construction leads, turning data into relationships and prospects into appointments. This isn't cold calling—you'll work with pre-qualified leads who have already expressed interest in construction and renovation services. You'll conduct meaningful discovery conversations, qualify project potential, and set up your internal sales team for success. Your work directly impacts the company's growth pipeline and revenue generation.

Job Highlights

Schedule: Mondays to Fridays, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm (US Central Time), with a 1-hour unpaid break (40 hours per week)

Work Arrangement: Work from home

Contract: Independent Contractor

Responsibilities

  • Conduct initial outreach to qualified leads via phone and email using provided scripts and adaptive conversation techniques
  • Perform in-depth discovery calls to qualify prospects on project timeline, financing status, land ownership, and investment partnerships
  • Set qualified appointments between prospects and the internal business development team
  • Update CRM system with detailed prospect information and interaction notes from all touchpoints
  • Request and coordinate the collection of construction documents and project plans from interested prospects
  • Follow up strategically with leads to move them through the qualification and nurturing process
  • Work within designated geographic territories to maximize local market penetration
  • Collaborate with the internal sales team to ensure smooth handoff of qualified opportunities
  • Track and report on lead conversion metrics and appointment-setting performance

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in inside sales, business development, or telemarketing roles with measurable results
  • Strong communication skills for conducting discovery calls and building rapport with business prospects
  • Ability to follow structured scripts while adapting conversations based on prospect responses and needs
  • Experience with CRM systems and accurate data entry practices
  • Comfortable making outbound calls to both warm and cold prospects in a professional manner
  • Skill in asking probing questions about construction projects, timelines, financing, and decision-making processes
  • Bonus if you have experience in construction, real estate, or B2B services industries
  • It helps if you're familiar with commercial construction terminology and project development processes
