Contract: Full-time Remote Contractor (160 hours monthly)
Business Hours: Monday through Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM MST
Rate: $10 - $12 USD hourly / $1,600 - $1,920 USD monthly (Salary is negotiable depending on experience and location)

What You'll Do
As a Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for supporting and maintaining the Client's day-to-day financial records, accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and accounting operations through accurate transaction processing, reporting, and financial oversight. This role requires strong attention to detail, independent problem-solving, and the ability to manage bookkeeping tasks with minimal supervision. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Maintain Accurate Financial Records:
- Utilize accounting software and integrated CRMs to record and categorize all financial transactions, including income, expenses, and complex receipts.
- Maintain the integrity of the Chart of Accounts and ensure 100% accuracy through regular, detailed reconciliations of bank accounts, credit cards, and merchant statements.
Accounts Payable and Receivable Management:
- Oversee the full-cycle AP/AR process, ensuring supplier invoices are accurate and payments are scheduled to meet vendor terms.
- Manage customer billing and collections, acting as a professional point of contact for clients to resolve payment discrepancies and follow up on overdue accounts.
Technical Troubleshooting & Agency Liaison:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for resolving technical or software issues; proactively troubleshoot glitches within the accounting tech stack or CRM.
- Actively resolve external roadblocks by independently contacting payroll providers and state agencies, or by conducting research to find solutions before escalation.
Budgeting and Financial Oversight:
- Manage and monitor client budgets, track variances, and provide autonomous recommendations for adjustments.
- Ensure all business expenses are meticulously documented and categorized in alignment with tax compliance standards and internal reporting requirements.
What You Should Have
Must-haves:
- Minimum 4 years of full-charge bookkeeping experience, ideally with North American clients.
- At least 1 year of experience working remotely for Accounting or Financial companies based in the US.
- Strong functional knowledge of accounting principles, the Chart of Accounts, and multi-entity reconciliations.
- Proven ability to work self-sufficiently without the need for extensive training or oversight.
- Excellent English verbal and written skills for direct client interaction.
- Has a driver mindset, willing to call agencies or research solutions to solve problems independently.
- High proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Xero; ability to troubleshoot software integrations and technical glitches.
- Advanced Microsoft Office 365 or Google Workspace experience.
- Comfortable working in a remote environment and using collaboration tools like Slack or Microsoft Teams.
- Demonstrated history of handling sensitive financial data with the highest level of trustworthiness.
