It is an independent member of the BDO Alliance USA, a nationwide association of independently owned local and regional accounting, consulting, and service firms with similar client service goals.

We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Bookkeeper to join our growing team. The ideal candidate has extensive bookkeeping experience with US-based clients, a solid understanding of accounting principles, and a proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

This role requires working the US shift (8:00 AM 5:00 PM EST, or 9:00 AM 6:00 PM EST) and is best suited for candidates who have previously worked night shift schedules.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day bookkeeping activities, including recording financial transactions, reconciliations, and journal entries.
  • Prepare and post payroll and month-end journal entries accurately and on time.
  • Prepare and review Profit & Loss statements (PNL) and balance sheets.
  • Handle debits and credits and ensure all entries comply with accounting standards.
  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings and assist in the preparation of financial reports.
  • Collaborate with CPAs and clients to ensure accurate and timely financial information.
  • Maintain organized financial records and ensure compliance with firm procedures.
  • Use QuickBooks Online and Bill.com daily for bookkeeping and payment processing.
  • Support continuous improvement by identifying process efficiencies and recommending enhancements.

Qualifications

  • 3-4 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably with a US-based CPA firm (required).
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, including payroll, journal entries, PNL, and reconciliations.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Bill.com is mandatory.
  • Prior experience working night shift (US hours) is required.
  • Experience with Keeper workflow system is an advantage.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
