We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior BIM Technician, Structures to join our Property and Buildings - Building Structures team.
What you'll do:
Shared Accountabilities:
- Comply with all role specific SHEQ obligations.
- Lead and foster a good safety culture to ensure the safety and well-being of all staff within the team.

- Ensure compliance with all corporate governance, business system, quality and risk management obligations.
Functional:
- Conduct modelling/drafting and detailing works for projects; Manage projects, junior team members and clients at all levels
- Prepare engineering models and drawings in accordance with the company requirements and standards.
- Liaise with other Technicians, Engineers as well as other WSP offices regarding work issues and deadlines.
- Check / ensure drawings comply with specific Project Design Brief Instructions and all details are being carried out correctly to WSP Standards and QA Procedures.
- May function as Team Lead technician and manage the modelling and detailing aspects on projects including planning and controlling of deliverables, resource management and maintaining communication between engineering and drafting staff on the project.
- Supervise drawing issues, prioritize work packages and liaise with the document controller to ensure issue dates and work packages are sent on time and to the correct contacts.
- Prepare reports on project status, estimate work completion targets, resource allocation and leave management for the approval of the BIM Coordinator/ Manager.
- Train other staff in technical aspects, good practices and ensure staff is proficient in the use of CAD/BIM software.
- Ensure work is being carried out to appropriate Codes of Practice.
- Provide feedback and input to improve departmental standards, working methods and guidelines.
- Carry out all functions in accordance with the approved procedures of the Management System.
- Evaluates staff performance in line with HR procedures
- Comply with all role specific SHEQ Obligations as required.
- Report and liaise with the BIM Coordinator/ Manager on all technical and personnel issues.
- Other duties as directed by BIM Coordinator/ Manager, to help the company provide outstanding service to its customers
What we will love about you:
- Technical competence commensurate with a Senior BIM Technician's role.
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture or any related course.
- Knowledgeable in Revit Structures & AutoCAD.
- Skills in Dynamo and coding is a plus.
- Proficient in Windows and Microsoft Applications
- Good English communication Skills.
Experience, skills, and organisational knowledge
- Typically 10+ years of relevant experience
- Management ability relative to management of workload, systems and junior staff.
- Ability to check documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
- Experience in structural modelling and detailing of reinforced concrete and steel structures
- Experience in BIM360, BIM360 docs Project wise
- Skills in coding is a plus
- The ability to work as a team player, working with the wide variety of personalities and situations whilst remaining professional and outcome focused.
- The ability to work independently and to communicate clearly with clients, management team, office team members, colleagues and consultants.

- High level modelling & detailing skills. Prepares models and drawing deliverables from sketches, calculations and/or specifications.
- Experienced in developing and maintaining client relationships.
- Able to effectively liaise and communicate with immediate team members including the delegation of design and documentation work as required. Experience in supervising staff.
- Proven ability in building the technical capability of others and transferring technical expertise within the team.
- Active participation in IQBE initiatives and Discipline Action Plans. Inputs to technical standard and protocols.
- Working knowledge of WSP's organisational capability and how to access it.
- Working knowledge of systems, procedures and practices.
- Working knowledge of organisational approach to risk management, ethics and safety.
