Job Description

FUNCTIONS

  • Responsible in handling Accounting Unit, Billing and Collection Unit, and Cash Management Unit, together with the Finance Head
  • Doing overall management, operational issues, projects and reports and daily operations.
  • Accountable for the finance and accounting operations of the Group which includes the production of periodic financial reports
  • Maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk
  • Enhance the accuracy of the Group's reported financial results and ensure that reported results comply with Philippine Accounting Standards and Philippine Financial Reporting Standards.

RISK MANAGEMENT AND COMPLIANCE

  • In conjunction with the Group Compliance Officer and Group Risk Officer, ensure, without fail, that the unit's daily operations and procedures are in total compliance with the PDS Group of companies policies and with local laws.
  • Conduct a regular review of the unit's processes and recommend changes to address current needs and practices. Identify, monitor, report and control risks.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

· Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.

· Certified Public Accountant.

· At least 5 years experience in accounting, 2 years of which must be in a managerial level

· Finance/Banking industry experience is a plus

· Proficiency in relevant areas, including accounting principles, financial analysis, corporate finance, previous experience in financial statement preparation and managing a month end closing process.

· Excels in a fast-paced and time-sensitive environment while meeting deadlines and executing responsibilities with minimal errors.

· Detail oriented.

· Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills – able to produce concise, easily-understood analyses and effectively present to senior management

· Proficiency with desktop applications, specifically strong with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. Must be able to create spreadsheets, audit work of others and ensure that spreadsheets are robust and accurate.

· Knowledge in accounting software is a plus.

· Flexible i.e., available to work overtime as required
