Job Description

Overview:

The Architect is under the Planning Team of the Planning & Construction (P&C) Department. The role involves the preparation of architectural plans and comprehensive working drawings for permitting, construction, and renovation projects, including cost estimates and technical specifications. The Architect will work closely with internal teams to ensure all deliverables comply with project requirements, applicable codes, and established timelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare architectural plans and detailed working drawings for residential housing, subdivision developments, renovations, and full construction projects, including complete drawing sets for building permit applications and construction, with coordinated structural, electrical, and plumbing layouts.
  • Coordinate with the Permitting and Licensing Team to ensure all necessary technical submissions comply with required documentation, revisions, technical standards, and applicable codes and regulations, including those for socialized and economic housing, residential developments, and subdivision planning.
  • Collaborate with the team on subdivision planning and site development, as needed, while taking responsibility for assigned tasks and coordinating with engineering disciplines, consultants, contractors, and internal teams to resolve design and technical issues.
  • Conduct site visits as required, which may include taking measurements for as-built drawings, checking the status of ongoing works, and coordinating with local government units on project requirements.
  • Provide technical clarifications and support during the construction phase, ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and timely delivery of all technical outputs in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Support other teams within P&C or other departments as needed, providing technical input, drawings, or clarifications to assist with their requirements.

Qualification Requirements

Education & Licensure:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Architecture.
  • Licensed Architect is preferred but not required

Experience:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in:
  1. Residential housing projects, Subdivision planning and development
  2. Preparation of a complete set of working drawings including Architectural, Structural, Electrical, and Plumbing.
  3. Documentation for building permits and construction

Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in AutoCAD.
  • Knowledgeable in the use of rendering software (e.g., SketchUp, Lumion, Enscape, V-Ray, or equivalent).
  • Capable of preparing cost estimates, bills of quantities, and specification writing.
  • Strong working knowledge of building codes and other necessary regulations related to residential and subdivision developments.
