Accounting Supervisor

About the Role:

Makro Philippines (CP Axtra AC Corporation) is looking for an Accounting Supervisor to support day-to-day accounting operations and help ensure accurate, timely financial reporting as we build out our finance function. This role works closely with the Accounting Manager, overseeing a small team and helping bring structure and discipline to our accounting processes as a fast-growing retail startup.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions in compliance with Philippine Financial Reporting Standards
• Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes, including account reconciliations and variance analysis
• Review journal entries, accruals, and financial schedules for accuracy and completeness
• Monitor and reconcile bank accounts, supplier accounts, and customer accounts
• Maintain asset and liability records, including inventory and fixed assets
• Support tax compliance, including preparation of tax filings and statutory reports
• Assist in preparing audit schedules and supporting documentation for external audits
• Guide and review the work of accounting staff, ensuring consistency and accuracy across the team

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• CPA is an advantage but not required
• At least 5-7 years of relevant accounting experience; retail industry experience is a plus
• Prior experience supervising or guiding a small accounting team
• Strong knowledge of accounting standards and month-end close processes
• Proficient in accounting systems and MS Excel
• High attention to detail with strong organizational and communication skills
