The Finance Supervisor oversees daily accounting operations, manages financial reporting, and leads the finance team. They are responsible for closing books, reconciling accounts, ensuring compliance, and supporting management with budgeting and forecasting.
Core Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Hire, train, and supervise accounting staff (e.g., Accounts Payable/Receivable, Payroll), providing performance feedback and daily guidance.
- Financial Operations: Oversee day-to-day transaction processing, cash flow management, and banking activities.
- Reporting & Analysis: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, alongside variance analysis against company budgets.
- Compliance & Controls: Enforce internal financial controls, safeguard company assets, and ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards (e.g., GAAP) and tax laws.
- Auditing & Reconciliations: Reconcile complex ledger accounts, resolve discrepancies, and assist with internal or external audits.
- Process Improvement: Identify inefficiencies in financial workflows and implement software or procedural upgrades.
Key Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Financial Management or its equivalent.
- Experience: 3 to 5 years of progressive experience in corporate accounting or finance, including at least 1-2 years in a supervisory role.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and hands-on experience with accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP).
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical thinking, exceptional attention to detail, conflict resolution, and solid communication skills.
