We seek a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Accounting Specialist. In this role, you will assist with various accounting tasks and ensure accurate financial record-keeping. You will work closely with the accounting department and provide support in areas such as accounts payable/receivable, general ledger maintenance, financial reporting, and data entry. The ideal candidate is a proactive and motivated team player with a strong aptitude for numbers and excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with the processing and recording of accounts payable or accounts receivable transactions.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of financial transactions, including invoices, receipts, and bank statements.
- Reconcile bank statements and other financial documents to ensure the accuracy and completeness of records.
- Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger, ensuring proper classification and documentation.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Support the month-end and year-end close processes, including assisting with financial statement analysis and audit preparation.
- Perform data entry tasks accurately and efficiently, ensuring timely processing of financial information.
- Collaborate with team members to identify process improvements and contribute to developing accounting procedures.
- Respond to inquiries from internal stakeholders and external vendors regarding financial transactions and documentation.
- To maintain compliance, adhere to established accounting principles, regulations, and company policies.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, CPA is a plus
- Proven experience (1-2 years) in an accounting role or internship.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial concepts.
- Proficiency in using accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial record-keeping.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify discrepancies and propose solutions.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with team members and external parties.
- Highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
