What is the job

The Accounting Manager is responsible in leading accounting operations and financial reporting for multiple assigned clients. This role oversees full-cycle accounting activities, including month-end and year-end close, reconciliations, and preparation of GAAP-compliant financial statements, while managing and mentoring a team of staff accountants.

Responsibilities:

• Leads full-cycle month-end and year-end close processes for multiple clients, ensuring accurate and GAAP-compliant financial reporting.

• Reviews account reconciliations, journal entries, work papers, and general ledger activities, resolving discrepancies and maintaining accurate financial records.

• Prepares and analyzes financial reports to support client decision-making, operational performance, and business requirements.

• Manages, coaches, and mentors a team of staff accountants, driving quality, efficiency, and professional development.

• Identifies and implements process improvements to streamline accounting workflows, enhance reporting quality, and reduce close timelines.

• Supports audit requirements, ensures compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements, and utilizes QuickBooks Online and other accounting systems to deliver timely financial results.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.

• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in accounting or finance.

• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a supervisory or manager capacity.

• Experience in public accounting or client accounting services.

• Experience using QuickBooks Online or similar accounting platforms.

• Experience reviewing and leading accounting teams (not just preparing) for companies with approximately $10M–$20M in annual revenue.

• Proven leadership and team management skills with experience mentoring junior accountants.

• Aptitude for technology and implementing accounting automation tools or systems.

• Shows ability to manage multiple client engagements and meet deadlines.

• Demonstrates strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

• Demonstrates strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards.

• Must have stable employment history.
