About the Role
We're looking for an experienced Accounting Manager who can own client accounting work end-to-end while helping to build and lead a small accounting team as the firm grows.
Initially, you'll spend most of your time managing bookkeeping and tax-related work for clients. Over time, you'll begin supervising junior team members, reviewing work, improving processes, and serving as the operational backbone of our accounting practice.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both hands-on accounting and leadership.
What You'll Do
Client Accounting
Manage bookkeeping for multiple client accounts
Perform monthly reconciliations and close processes
Prepare and review financial statements
Maintain accurate general ledger records
Ensure high-quality client deliverables
Tax Support
Prepare and review business and individual tax returns
Assist with tax planning and compliance
Research accounting and tax issues as needed
Support clients throughout tax season
Team Leadership
Mentor and supervise junior accounting staff
Review work for accuracy and completeness
Improve workflows, documentation, and quality control
Help build and scale the accounting team over time
Serve as the first point of escalation for accounting questions
Client Service
Communicate professionally with clients
Resolve accounting issues proactively
Manage deadlines across multiple engagements
Deliver consistent, accurate work with minimal supervision
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
5–7+ years of public accounting or client accounting experience
Experience with Drake Tax, and TaxDome required
Experience with QuickBooks Online is required
Strong bookkeeping and accounting fundamentals
Experience preparing business and/or individual tax returns
Ability to manage multiple clients simultaneously
Excellent attention to detail
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Excellent written and spoken English
Ability to work independently with minimal oversight
Leadership Experience
Experience reviewing the work of other accountants or bookkeepers
Comfortable training and mentoring junior team members
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
Able to take ownership of projects and improve processes
Qualifications
CPA or CPA candidate preferred
Experience working in a U.S. CPA firm
Experience managing remote teams
