Accounting and Financial Reporting
- Oversee Daily Operations: Manage and supervise all general accounting functions, including the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and fixed asset management.
- Financial Statement Preparation: Prepare, review, and analyze accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS) and relevant company policies.
- Month-End/Year-End Close: Lead and manage the month-end and year-end closing processes to ensure swift and accurate completion.
- Account Reconciliation: Ensure all balance sheet accounts, including bank and cash accounts, are regularly reconciled and discrepancies are resolved promptly.
Compliance and Audit
- Tax Compliance: Ensure timely and accurate preparation and filing of all local tax returns (e.g., BIR forms) and compliance with all tax laws and regulations in the Philippines.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all other relevant Philippine regulatory requirements, such as those from the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for corporations.
- Internal Controls: Develop, implement, and maintain strong internal control policies and procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure data accuracy.
- Audit Coordination: Coordinate and facilitate internal and external audits, serving as the primary liaison between the company and the auditors.
Financial Management and Strategy
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop, monitor, and manage the annual operating budget and prepare financial forecasts to support strategic decision-making.
- Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, risks, and opportunities for improvement in operational efficiency and profitability.
- Cash Flow Management: Monitor and manage the company's cash flow and working capital to optimize liquidity and financial stability.
- System Improvement: Continuously review and optimize accounting processes and systems for greater efficiency, accuracy, and process automation.
Leadership and People Management
- Team Leadership: Lead, supervise, and mentor the accounting staff, providing coaching, training, and performance evaluations to foster a high-performing team.
- Policy Enforcement: Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles across the department.
- Interdepartmental Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with other department heads to provide financial guidance and support business planning and decision-making.
Qualifications And Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Financial Management, or a related field.
- Professional Certification (Preferred): Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is highly preferred.
- Experience: A minimum of 5 to 8 years of progressive experience in accounting and financial management, with at least 3 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
- Technical Knowledge:
- Thorough knowledge of Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS), local tax laws, and government regulations (BIR, SEC).
- Advanced proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Proven experience with accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
