Job Description

Level Up is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead the company's accounting operations and ensure accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and effective financial management. This role is responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting functions, supervising the accounting team, preparing financial and management reports, supporting budgeting and cash flow activities, and providing financial insights that drive strategic business decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management

  • Oversee all accounting operations, including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), General Ledger (GL), and other core accounting functions.
  • Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead the annual budgeting process and prepare monthly Budget vs. Actual variance reports for management review.
  • Generate timely financial and management reports to support business planning and strategic decision-making.
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of accounting records and financial data.

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, supervise, mentor, and develop the Accounting team, including the Accounting Supervisor and other accounting staff.
  • Assign, monitor, and review work to ensure timely and accurate completion of accounting deliverables.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, provide coaching, and identify training opportunities to strengthen team performance.

Compliance & Audit

  • Ensure compliance with Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS), tax regulations, statutory requirements, and company policies.
  • Manage internal and external audit activities by coordinating with auditors, preparing supporting documents, and addressing audit findings.
  • Monitor updates in accounting standards, tax regulations, and industry best practices, ensuring timely implementation of necessary changes.

Treasury & Cash Flow Management

  • Monitor company cash flow and liquidity requirements.
  • Oversee the scheduling of supplier payments, expense disbursements, and other financial obligations.
  • Prepare weekly disbursement schedules and coordinate funding requirements with the Finance Department.

Process Improvement & Internal Controls

  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting systems, processes, and workflows.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial accuracy.
  • Recommend process improvements that enhance operational efficiency and reporting effectiveness.

Business Partnership

  • Collaborate with senior management by providing financial analysis and recommendations to support strategic initiatives.
  • Coordinate closely with the Finance Manager on budgeting, cash flow requirements, and payment schedules.
  • Liaise with auditors, tax consultants, regulatory agencies, banks, and other external stakeholders as needed.

Financial & Management Reports

The Accounting Manager will be responsible for preparing, reviewing, and ensuring the timely submission of the following reports:

  • Income Statement
  • Balance Sheet (Statement of Financial Position)
  • Statement of Cost of Goods Sold (COGS)
  • Statement of Operating Expenses
  • Cash Flow Statement (in coordination with the Finance Manager)
  • Schedule of Property, Plant and Equipment (PPE)
  • Cash in Bank Schedule
  • Bank Reconciliation Statements
  • Sales Report
  • Sales Returns and Allowances Report
  • Budget vs. Actual (Variance) Reports
  • Notes and Disclosures to the Financial Statements
  • Other financial, accounting, and management reports as required by Management

Other Responsibilities

  • Perform other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned by Management from time to time.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Accounting Technology, Finance, or a related field.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is highly preferred.
  • At least 6-8 years of managerial experience in Accounting or Finance, preferably within the real estate industry. Candidates from other asset-intensive industries are also encouraged to apply.
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, taxation, cash flow management, audit coordination, and internal controls.
  • Proven experience preparing financial statements, management reports, and supporting schedules.
  • Thorough understanding of Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS), tax laws, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Experience managing internal and external audits and coordinating with government agencies.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel. Experience with ERP systems and SAP is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making skills.
  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to build, coach, and develop high-performing teams.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate across all levels of the organization.

Location: Cebu

Employment Type: Full-Time

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday | 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM
