About the role. . .
The Accountant will be working closely with the client to support the business and manage the following tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger Maintenance and Bookkeeping.
- Balance sheet reconciliations. Accounts Payable/Receivable management.
- Preparation of monthly/quarterly management accounts and
- Process weekly payroll of employees of various clients
- Process all electronic payments to debtors accounts consistent in accordance with client's policy and procedures.
- Investigating, following up and processing of outstanding claims, credit notes and overdue invoices
- Maintain accurate records of outstanding debtors and provide regular reports for review and follow up.
- Processing of accounts payable invoices - payment of accounts payable via the bank account
- Setting up suppliers, posting invoices and credit cards, organising supplier payments, reconciling supplier accounts and delivery dockets outstanding.
- Meet statutory payment obligations - Workcover, payroll tax, superannuation etc..
- Managing business credit card reconciliations and expense reimbursements
- Processing intercompany transactions and journals
- Review work of other junior staff including payroll, bank reconciliations, month end reports, journals etc
- Processing Monthly & quarterly activity statements;
- Investigate financial queries and resolve invoicing issues
- Month End - complete month end close procedures including general ledger reconciliations, accruals and journal posting
- Process Business Activity Statements (BAS) and Instalment Activity Statements (IAS)
- Processing staff expense reimbursements
- Assist in external audit by analysing and scheduling general ledger accounts; providing information for auditors.
- Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
- Reconcile GST that has gone through the bank account with what's been paid to the ATO
- Complete required tax reporting in a timely manner
Qualifications / Skills:
- Graduate of Accountancy or any related program
- At least 2 years accounting exp
- Proficiency in using Xero, NetSuite, QuickBooks, & Microsoft Office is a plus
