​​​​​​​Mid-Level Manual QA Engineer (with Automation Exposure)

Role Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Mid-Level Manual QA Engineer with solid experience in manual testing and foundational exposure to automation. The ideal candidate will focus primarily on ensuring product quality through structured manual testing, while contributing to automation efforts where applicable.

Must-Have Qualifications:

. 3-5 years of experience in software testing, with a strong focus on manual testing.
. Hands-on experience in test case creation, execution, and defect reporting.
. Basic to intermediate experience with automation testing tools/frameworks such as Selenium, Karate, or similar.
. Familiarity with BDD frameworks (e.g., Cucumber, SpecFlow, or similar) is a plus but not required to be deep.
. Experience testing APIs using tools like Postman or SOAPUI.
. Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL or similar).
. Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments, including participation in ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives).
. Strong understanding of software testing principles, test design techniques, and QA methodologies.

Nice-to-Have / Preferred Qualifications:

. Exposure to automation scripting (writing or maintaining basic automated test cases).
. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Azure DevOps, Jenkins) - primarily from a usage or support perspective.
. Experience in P&C, commercial insurance, or specialty insurance domains.
. Experience with Guidewire or similar insurance platforms.
. Ability to collaborate with developers to identify automation opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

. Design, execute, and maintain manual test cases and test scenarios.
. Perform functional, regression, and integration testing.
. Identify, document, and track defects and issues clearly and effectively.
. Validate API endpoints and data flows.
. Support and contribute to existing automation efforts (e.g., executing automated tests, minor script updates).
. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality releases.
. Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes.
