Workload Automation Engineer

As a Workload Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining automated job scheduling and workload management systems across on-premises and cloud environments. You'll play a key role in ensuring the reliable and efficient execution of critical business processes in areas such as Retail, Supply Chain, and Finance. This position involves working with industry-leading tools and cloud-native services to support hybrid IT landscapes.

Key Responsibilities

• Support Scheduling Operations: Implement and maintain job schedules across platforms and business services. Translate business needs into reliable workload automation solutions.
• Maintain Automation Tools: Monitor performance and assist in troubleshooting issues.
• Improve Job Reliability: Review job logs, identify failure points, and optimize job flows to meet SLAs.
• Collaborate Across Teams: Work with Infrastructure Engineers, Software Developers, and DevOps teams to streamline workflows and support automation initiatives.
• Technical Execution: Apply knowledge in Linux/Unix, Windows, scripting (Python, Shell), and APIs for automation and troubleshooting.
• Contribute to Automation: Identify opportunities to automate manual tasks and implement solutions using scripting tools.
• Ensure Operational Stability: Assess job failure impacts, support incident response, and participate in on-call rotation for critical issues.

Skills and Qualifications

• Practical experience with Operating Systems (Linux, Windows), Microsoft Tools, ServiceNow, Confluence, Jira, ITIL Foundations.
• Familiarity with workload automation tools such as Stonebranch Universal Automation Center (UAC) and CA Workload Automation (ESP).
• Knowledge of cloud platforms and hybrid IT environments.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration.
• Customer service mindset with emotional intelligence to understand and address user needs.
• Excellent time management and ability to learn and adapt quickly.
• Problem-solving skills with logical and creative approaches to issue resolution.
