Job Description

The Workforce Manager plays a crucial role in managing staffing levels and optimizing workforce productivity within the healthcare organization. They oversee the recruitment, scheduling, and performance management of staff to ensure efficient operations and high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with department heads to determine staffing needs and develop recruitment strategies. Oversee the recruitment process, including sourcing candidates, conducting interviews, and making hiring decisions.

  • Develop and maintain staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage for all shifts and departments. Adjust schedules as needed to accommodate changes in patient volume or staff availability.

  • Monitor employee performance and productivity levels. Provide coaching and support to staff members to help them meet performance targets and achieve professional growth.

  • Identify training needs and develop training programs to enhance the skills and competencies of staff members. Coordinate with the training department to facilitate ongoing learning and development opportunities.

  • Collaborate with finance and budgeting teams to develop staffing budgets and monitor expenses related to workforce management. Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to optimize resource utilization.

  • Serve as a liaison between management and staff to facilitate effective communication and resolve conflicts or issues promptly. Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork and collaboration.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field.
  • Proven experience in workforce management or staffing within the healthcare industry, with at least 3-5 years of progressive leadership experience.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare operations, including patient flow, staffing requirements, and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with staff at all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in workforce management software and scheduling systems.
  • Experience with healthcare-specific software such as electronic health records (EHR) is a plus.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions to improve workforce efficiency.
  • Strong leadership abilities, with the capacity to motivate and inspire teams to achieve organizational goals.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
