Strategic Purpose of the Role
This position supports the organization's objective to improve labor accuracy, operational efficiency, and cost control while enabling scalable, network-wide workforce planning. The Planner will contribute to building a predictive labor framework that aligns staffing levels with operational needs and business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Labor Planning & Allocation
- Develop and maintain labor plans using APS tools to align staffing with forecasted workload and operational demand.
- Allocate workforce resources across departments to ensure productivity, efficiency, and service-level expectations are met.
- Transition planning processes from manual methods to a standardized, system-driven framework.
- Monitor real-time workforce allocation and recommend adjustments to improve headcount accuracy.
APS Transformation Support
- Support implementation of the Advanced Planning & Scheduling framework and related Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
- Assist with configuration, validation, and ongoing optimization of APS planning workflows.
- Partner with leadership to establish clear labor planning ownership and accountability.
- Contribute to building scalable planning models that support network-wide deployment.
Data Integrity & Workforce Visibility
- Validate and maintain workforce data integrity within HR systems, including Paylocity workforce records and agent assignments.
- Identify and resolve issues impacting labor forecasting, including clock-in discrepancies and inventory movement impacts.
- Maintain labor planning trackers and standardized efficiency rate templates.
- Provide leadership with reporting that enhances visibility into workforce utilization and performance.
Operational Collaboration
- Partner with warehouse supervisors, operations leadership, HR, and finance teams to gather efficiency metrics and improve planning accuracy.
- Support cross-functional initiatives integrating VAS, Dropship, and HR systems into the labor planning model.
- Assist in training and onboarding support planners as the APS model scales.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations Management, Supply Chain, or related field preferred.
- Experience in workforce planning, labor planning, operations planning, or warehouse planning environments.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret workforce data and forecasting models.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with workforce management or scheduling systems preferred.
- Knowledge of HRIS platforms (Paylocity or similar) is a plus.
- Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to work cross-functionally.
