About the Role
As a Workday HCM Specialist, you will lead the architecture and configuration of HR systems that support large-scale, mission-driven organizations. This role goes beyond BAU support-focusing on business process design, system configuration, and scalable solution delivery within Workday.
You will directly influence how HR operations function at scale, translating complex business requirements into structured, high-performing Workday solutions. The Qualifications We Seek
- 3-5+ years ofhands-on Workday HCM configuration and solution design experience
- Extensive experience in business process configuration and design within Workday, including building and optimizing workflows using the Business Process Framework (BPF)
- Proven ability to translate business requirements into scalable Workday configurations and system solutions
- Experience in end-to-end Workday implementations, enhancements, and transformation projects
- Strong knowledge of Core HCM modules, security configuration, reporting, and data structures
- Solid understanding of HR operations, data governance, and compliance standards
- Experience handling Tier 2-3 issues, including root cause analysis and system improvements
- Ability to independently manage configuration changes, releases, and enhancements
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, attention to detail, and stakeholder communication skills
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with HRIS to configure, maintain, and enhance Workday business processes, reports, integrations, and security roles
- Provide Tier 1 support by troubleshooting Workday issues, escalating complex cases when required, and ensuring resolution follow-through
- Monitor and process tickets and requests accurately and within agreed timelines
- Support system updates and participate in testing and rollout of new features, upgrades, and configuration changes
- Develop and maintain custom Workday reports, including calculated fields
- Research integration and data issues and implement solutions aligned with documented best practices
- Create and update user guides, documentation, and basic training materials for internal stakeholders
- Follow governance protocols to ensure data privacy, accuracy, and system security compliance
