Job Description

Our team of passionate and highly skilled people is growing, and we are looking for an experienced Windows Infrastructure Operations Specialist to be working primarily with Microsoft Windows 2003-latest infrastructure within related projects and assignments. There is a strategy for automating where it makes sense so experience with and knowledge of engaging the infrastructure via scripting and API calls would be ideal.

As a Windows Infrastructure in AEVEN, you will be part of a Customer Team that handles the daily operation and support for AEVENs services specific for the Customer. Your primary responsibilities will be but are not limited to:

  • Implement changes and troubleshoot complex technical issues.
  • Creating and maintaining technical documentation such as Operation Manuals, technical design specification, guidelines and project documentation.
  • Manage local department tasks.
  • Perform operational tasks that directly affect the results of the Customer Team within the work area. Tasks may not be conducted based on predefined processes and according to guidelines so you will have the opportunity to help establish and define these.
  • Analyse assigned tasks which could require academic competencies.
  • Monitor, Control and Report progress on tasks, minor projects and/or be part of larger projects.
  • Establish and manage Training Activities such as Workshops including content and exercises for external and internal participants.
  • System management and administration of relevant systems.
  • Assist in continually improving the effectiveness and efficiency of running IT processes and services within the Customer Delivery Organisation.
  • Daily Client Communication during task execution to ensure alignment to and with Client Expectations.
  • Involved in Consolidation, Automation and Performance Optimization
  • Provide Guidance and Counselling.
  • Designing, implementing and managing Windows server systems including minor IAM tasks.
  • Designing, Implementing and Managing Scripts and Automation workflows within the Customer Delivery Organization.

Qualifications:

You will be part of a Customer Delivery Organisation and will be engaging with one specific Customer, you should have a broad technical experience within 2nd/3rd level operation support. The Customer Delivery Team is a global team hence you will have daily interaction with colleagues located in Denmark, US, India, Polland and the Philippines. You should have a business-oriented approach to Communication and Problem Solving while possessing strong Operational and Support Skills with an eye for good Quality.

In the Role you will have colleagues who specifically have specialized competencies on hardware, VMware, Linux and SQL as these areas have a high focus for our Customer. This is a great opportunity to work with other professionals in Philippines as a SME for Windows and Automation on the specific Customer. You will have an opportunity to broaden your technical knowledge, exchange ideas, collaborate and develop your technical skills within other related areas also.

In the Customer Team we operate, transition and transform our Customers IT landscape via Automation. This is done via e.g. platform dependent scripting formats like Bash, Python or PowerShell via HP Server Automation. We focus on delivering on time and to the agreed Quality to ensure Customer Satisfaction. The Customer Team work as one and practice and appreciate a can-do attitude with collaboration and knowledge sharing as a focus. The right candidate will be open minded and ensure that knowledge is shared in a positive and motivational way within the team.

AEVEN works according to the ITIL Framework and we expect that you have acquired an ITILv2/v3/v4 Foundation Certification at least. For the right candidate AEVEN will even help you obtain this certification.

Beside the above we also appreciate it if you are:

  • Experienced in Incident, Standard Service Request, Change and Problem Management in accordance with the ITIL Framework.
  • Experienced troubleshooting Windows server OS - from Windows Server 2003 to the latest version.
  • Comfortable writing scripts using PowerShell.
  • Knowledgeable about Microsoft technologies and services.
  • Have basic experience and skills with virtualization technologies, primarily VMware and/or Citrix.
  • A strong team player who can work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Able to automate trivial tasks and have experience with coding and/or automating deployment of infrastructure components.
  • Have the right Customer-First attitude to communicating and solving problems with good quality (first time right).
  • Experienced with deployment principles using various orchestration tools.
  • Proficient in the English language both written and verbal communication abilities are necessary.
  • Motivated to cross operational boundaries and gain new knowledge on areas where you have limited experience
  • Able to communicate effectively and work with all levels of an Organization.
  • Experienced in Cross-cultural and International end-user support environments.
  • Capable of communicating complex issues both internally and externally. Explaining facts, methodology, policies etc. to parties both internally and externally with mixed technical knowledge and understanding.
  • Good at communicating and interacting with people in a professional manor.
  • Capable of working with various tasks simultaneously.
  • Structured in your approach to daily work, are self-motivated and able to take the initiative to reach the goal set for your tasks.

Work Schedule

Employees will be expected to adhere to a flexible hybrid work schedule, with a required presence in the office for 1 day per week, allowing for customization of work hours within a specified morning or mid-shift time frame.
